Little Ones

$15.00

Kristen Welles Bartley

Throughout the early 90s, tens of thousands of pilgrims descended upon a nondescript farmhouse east of Atlanta, the alleged site of monthly prophetic Marian apparitions to a woman named Nancy Fowler. During such visions, attendees recall supernatural occurrences on the grounds outside, often while the crowd sang in unison. I remember listening to my mother’s own euphoric accounts of the sun dancing and spinning and looking for evidence of these miracles within the countless Polaroids she brought back from her trip. In Little Ones, my mother’s personal images are interwoven with excerpts of the ominous messages delivered to Nancy, guiding the viewer on their own spiritual search.
